A Red or rosé table wine, at least 70% made of the cultivar Negramaro.
At a visual inspection, the red wine has a pale to rich ruby red colour, with a few orange flecks if aged; the flavour is rich, the taste is dry, well-balanced, with a bitter aftertaste, velvety and reasonably tannic. The Rosé is pink, verging on the pale cherry, in colour, the flavour is quite rich and persistent, fruity with some gentle notes of raspberry and blueberry, and the taste is dry, fairly soft and warm, poorly tannic, full-bodied and well-balanced. When aged 24 months, the alcoholic strength reaches 12 to 12.5 degrees.
Matches - How to consume it:
The red goes well with meat dishes and cheese, while the Rosé is to be drunk with fairly elaborate dishes, such as typically Mediterranean fish dishes, pasta with fish sauces, in particular eggs, mussels au gratin, mullet baked in foil. The best time to drink it is within two years of the harvest.
